WE WALKED IN AND WERE greeted by Billy Smith who was, apparently, not on kitchen duty this evening, but was acting as host. He asked us if we wanted our usual spot. Of course we did. So he seated us in the front parlor next to the biggest window, where we had a lovely view of the Metoochie and the forested hills on the other side, bathed in evening light.

We took our time ordering, discussing favorites on the menu, and finally settled on pork chops for Bob, fish for me, and duck for Glaze. Except this is the way it read on the menu:
